AI Connectors

Learn how to connect Ask AI and Managed Agents with external tools, and access our step-by-step instructions, FAQs, and everything you need to know!

Before You Dive In

Connectors let our built-in AI tools expand their reach beyond your Ivorey™ account, so they can work directly inside apps you already use (e.g. Notion, Canva, Monday.com) to pull in information, create or update things, or search on your behalf, without you switching tabs or doing it manually yourself. You decide exactly what AI is allowed to do, and it acts only within those limits.

How do Connectors work?

Connectors work through MCP (Model Context Protocol) server connections. MCP is essentially a shared language that lets an AI tool talk directly to an external app or service: understanding what that app can do, and using it safely within the permissions you've set, rather than needing custom-built code for every single app.

We include a selection of ready-to-go Connectors for you to choose from, with the specific URLs already linked for the MCP connection. All you have to do is log into your account with the relevant app to connect it.

Beyond our list, you can also set up custom Connectors. Since MCP is an open standard, any app or service that publishes its own MCP server can be connected this way.

Which AI tools in Ivorey support Connectors?

Connectors are currently available in Ask AI and Managed Agents, and the two share one library of connections between them. A Connector belongs to your account rather than one specific AI tool, so connecting an app in either place makes it available to connect in both. You still control which Connectors and permissions are enabled for each.

Separately, you can also set up custom MCP connections in Voice AI and within an AI Agent action in Workflows. But these both have their own separate setup, and don’t currently have access to our pre-linked Connectors.

Which external apps are supported?

Ivorey™ supports a growing library of apps - here’s what’s currently available:

  • Docs & File Storage: Notion, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Airtable

  • Scheduling & Calendars: Google Calendar, Calendly, Cal.com

  • Project & Task Management: ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Atlassian (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Bitbucket)

  • CRM, Sales & Outreach: HubSpot, Apollo, Clay, Lemlist

  • Meeting Notes & Transcription: Fathom, Fireflies

  • Payments: Stripe

  • Automation & Integration Platforms: Zapier, Make, Composio

  • AI Content & Media Generation: Canva, OpenArt, Higgsfield, Fal, Magnific, Kling, Shotstack, Reap

  • Marketing, Ads & Analytics: Windsor.ai, AdAdvisor, Usermaven

  • Shipping & Logistics: Shippo

  • Time Tracking: Hubstaff

  • Developer & Data Tools: GitHub, Cloudflare, Supabase, Apify, Firecrawl, DataForSEO, Nekt

Note: You can also set up custom Connectors, to connect with any other app that provides an MCP connection and server URL.

How does Ivorey keep my connections secure?
  • AI never sees or stores your passwords or login details, it only keeps a reference to your connected account, and generates access per request

  • Permissions aren't locked in at setup, you can go back in and enable or disable individual tools for an app at any time after connecting

  • If one connected app runs into an issue, it's isolated to that request only, so the rest of your AI tasks or chats keep working as normal

This guide is perfect if you want to:

  • Have Ask AI or Managed Agents create, update, or search inside a connected app on your behalf

  • Pull information from an app you already use straight into an AI chat, without switching tabs

  • Control exactly what AI is allowed to do in each connected app

Ask AI and Managed Agents come at an additional usage-based cost. Please refer to our Billing and Inclusions guide for the current pricing.

Set Up an AI Connector

Connectors link Ask AI or Managed Agents directly to a specific app via your own login, so it can read/pull information, create new files/projects, make updates, or search inside that app for you. Once connected, changes sync in real time and in both directions, between Ivorey™ and the connected app.

Pre-requisite: You will need to have/open an account with the third-party app that supports MCP connection. Please refer to the external app’s documentation and pricing information before connecting.

Select From Our List of Supported Apps

We have a list of 40+ Connectors for popular platforms available, that are all pre-set with each app’s MCP server URL. Just choose your app, login, and set permissions to your liking.

Click here for the written steps
  1. From the main Ivorey™ menu, go to:

    1. Ask AI > click on the [Customize] tab, in the left-hand panel > click on [Connectors] > and click [Manage Connectors]

    2. AI Agents > Agent Studio > click the [⋮] three dots on any Managed Agent you want to connect an app to > select [Edit] > in the settings panel on the right, next to Apps, click [+ Add app]

  2. At the top of the left-hand panel, search for the app you'd like to connect (e.g. Notion, Canva, Google Drive) > select it > and click [Connect]

  3. Enter the Account Name and Email Address associated with your account with that app > and click [Continue]

Note: You authenticate under your own external login, so your credentials for each connected app stay private to you and are never shown to Ask AI or your Managed Agents.

  4. The third-party app or tool will open in a new browser tab > follow the prompts to authenticate and allow permission for the Connector to access your account (specific permissions/tools will be controlled in the next step)

  5. Once connected, the app appears under Connected in the left-hand panel, click on the app's name to see the full list of Tools (permissions) it offers:

    1. Check the box next to Tools to enable/disable all tool options

    2. Check the box next to any specific tool to enable/disable it (e.g. create page, search database)

  6. Click [Save] to complete the connection

  7. Test the connection by prompting the AI to create or change something in the connected app

Note: Visual customisation inside a connected app (e.g. changing colours of elements in Notion) can be limited. AI might not be able to replicate every visual detail even when the content itself updates correctly.

  8. If you’ve set up a Connector inside a Managed Agent’s settings:

    1. It won’t automatically be enabled for all Managed Agents - to enable it, click [Edit] on any Agent > click [+ Add app] > select the app > configure the tools you want enabled/disabled for this specific Agent > and click [Save]

    2. It will automatically be enabled for Ask AI - go to Ask AI > Customize > Connectors > under Connected apps, select the app > toggle Enabled OFF/ON in the top right corner to disable/enable the Connector > or toggle ON/OFF All tools or each tool individually to control permissions for Ask AI

  9. If you’ve set up a Connector inside Ask AI, it won’t automatically be enabled in any of your Managed Agents > follow the steps above to enable it

  10. At any time, you can click back into [Manage Connectors] > select any specific Connected app:

    1. Click [+ Add Account] to connect a second account with the same app (each account must use a different login)

    2. Click the 🗑 trash icon > and click [Disconnect] to delete the Connector completely (this disconnects the external app from your Ivorey™ account, across any AI tools or Agents using the connection)

Set Up a Custom Connector

If an app you want to use isn't in our ready-made list, you can connect it directly as long as it offers an MCP server.

  5. Click [Add MCP] to save your Connector

  6. Your new Connector will now appear under Connected, in the left-hand panel > click on it to choose which Tools you want to enable for your Agent or Ask AI > then click [Save]

Note: Adding more connectors than your Managed Agent needs can affect how well it performs. Start with the ones relevant to the job you've described when creating your Managed Agent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can other team members in my account use a Connector I've set up?

Yes, in Managed Agents, a connection lives at your account level, so it's available across your Managed Agents and any team member who has access to the Agent will be able to use the connection.

However, Ask AI is tied to your own Ivorey™ login. A teammate who needs the same app connected to their Ask AI will need to go through the steps themselves, under their own login.
