Creating a beautiful email usually means either building it from scratch or customising a template, and that can eat up time you don't have. Email AI gives you a complete, on-brand first draft in minutes, which you can then fine-tune. You don't need design skills or technical know-how, so you can spend your time on your message and let Email AI handle the layout.
This guide is perfect if you want to:
Create a polished, on-brand email without building it from scratch
Generate an email from a written prompt or a design you love
Use a website link or an image as your email inspiration
Email AI sits inside your email builder. You'll pick a starting point, let Email AI generate your first draft, then refine it conversationally and add any final touches before saving.
From the Ivorey™ main menu, go to Marketing > Emails > and:
Click the [Templates] tab > click the [Build with AI] button, in the top right corner, or
Open any existing campaign or template you want to edit (as long as it was created in the Design Editor, and not the Code Editor or Plain Text Editor)
At the top of the page, give your email template a name > and click the ✨ sparkle icon, in the top left toolbar, to open the Email AI sidebar
Click to the [Build] tab to write out your email prompt from scratch, or to select one of the prompt suggestions
Click to the [Assist] tab to use your Brand Board and/or business details as a base for your design
Tick the box next to Apply Brand Boards to auto-fill with all of the details already set up in your Brand Board > select your Brand Voice and Design Kit from the drop-downs (or leave the box unchecked to fill in your details manually)
Edit the details if needed, for your Business Name, Business Niche, Target Audience, Goal of this Email, and What are you offering?
Click the [Personalize →] button, at the bottom > and confirm your preferred Language and Tone
Click the [Visual Design →] button, at the bottom > and confirm the Color, Font, Image Style (if you want Email AI to generate images for you), Layout, Spacing and Borders you want to use in this email
Type in or edit your prompt, at the bottom:
If you’re on the Build tab, manually type out what you what your email should be about and what it should include, in simple language (e.g. "A warm welcome email for new coaching clients, with a friendly intro, what to expect section, and a button to book their first call")
If you’re on the Assist tab, scroll through the generated prompt to make sure you’re happy with the outline
(optional) Click the 📎 paperclip icon > and select to [Upload a File] from your device or select one from the [Media Library] > and add clear instructions to your prompt for how to use the image (e.g. as inspiration for the design or to include in the design)
(optional) Paste a URL into the prompt with clear instructions (e.g. “link to my sales page” or “use this as inspiration for the layout”)

When you’re ready, click the [➤] arrow icon to send the prompt, and Email AI will build a complete, structured email for you to review
Note: At any time you can click the [🟥] red square icon to stop Email AI from processing or generating your prompt, and type out a new prompt.
Refine your email by manually editing in the builder as you usually would or by typing what you'd like Email AI to change (in plain language), for example, you can ask it to:
Rewrite or shorten a section
Translate the email into another language
Add a section (e.g. a testimonial block or a second call to action)
Change the theme or styling, images, or colours
Note: If you translate your email, we recommend having a native speaker review it to make sure the wording feels natural.
Click on [Preview] to check your email:
Read through all of the copy to make sure it’s accurate and on-brand
Check that every link points to the correct destination
Confirm your compliance content is correct (such as your unsubscribe details)
Click the [⋮] three dots in the top right corner > and select:
Settings - to edit the From Name and Email, and the Subject and Preview Text
Test Email - to send a test to your own email address
Version History - to compare or restore an earlier version
Once your email is ready, click [Save Template] to add it to your campaign flow, ready to schedule or send
When you start from a reference, the result depends on what you give Email AI to work from. Here's how to choose one that gives you the best possible starting point:
Use a public preview link or a clear, full-page screenshot - these give Email AI the most complete picture of the layout you want
Avoid partial crops or pages with heavy custom code, as these are harder to recreate accurately
For inspiration, browse email galleries like Really Good Emails, find a design you love, then use its link or a screenshot as your reference
Yes, currently Email AI is completely free but is subject to fair use. If usage is high, you may be restricted.
Using your Brand Board with Email AI applies your colours and fonts automatically to elements like your headings, body text, buttons, and links, so your email is on-brand from the first draft. It will also use your Brand Voice as a guideline for the email copy that it generates for you. You can then edit any of this directly in the builder, or by asking Email AI to adjust it for you.
