Email Suspension Due to High Bounce Rate

If your account has a high email bounce rate, your ability to send emails will be temporarily paused. This is to protect your sender reputation and reduce the risk of getting flagged as spam.

A bounce means your email couldn’t be delivered to the person you sent it to.

  • Hard bounces happen when the email address is fake, doesn’t exist, or is misspelled.

  • Soft bounces are temporary - like the inbox is full or their email server is down.

We monitor bounce rates for all accounts. If your bounce rate goes above 5%, your email sending may be suspended. This usually means:

  • You're emailing invalid addresses

  • You’re using old or unverified contact lists

  • Spam filters are flagging your domain

What To Do If Your Email Services Get Suspended

If this happens, you’ll get an email with instructions. If it's the first time you've received this notice, please review your recent sends and remove any addresses that may be unverified or attracting a high bounce or spam rate. The suspension will be lifted within 24 hours. This is to protect the domain sending reputation.

If you receive over 3 suspension notices within 7 days, email sending will be blocked until you enable email validation which is an add-on service that verifies each email before sending.

Please see our best practice guide here to protect your sending reputation and ensure the best email deliverability.
