Before You Dive In

The ShipStation integration connects your Ivorey™ store to ShipStation’s shipping and fulfillment platform. Once enabled, orders are automatically synced, live carrier rates appear at checkout, and shipping labels can be generated directly from your Ivorey™ dashboard.

Step 1: Install the ShipStation Integration and Connect Your Account

Begin by installing the ShipStation Integration to enable seamless syncing between your Ivorey™ store and ShipStation.

1. From your Ivorey™ dashboard go to your [Account Settings] > [Integrations]

2. Search for [ShipStation]

3. Click [View App] > [Install]

4. Select [Allow & Install]

5. Login to your ShipStation Account then go to [Settings] > [Account] > [API settings] > [Generate API]

6. Inside Ivorey, go to [Settings] > [Integrations] > [ShipStation] > Enter your LIVE API key and API Secret Key

7. Click [Connect]

Important: Only Live API Tokens are supported, which means that test tokens will not work.



Step 2: Complete the Setup Checklist in ShipStation

1. Ensure at least one Ship From Location is created: Log in to your ShipStation account then go to [Settings] > [Shipping] > [Ship From Locations]

2. Enable the Package Option for all active carriers: Log in to your ShipStation account, go to [Settings] > [Shipping] > [Packages]

3. Confirm that your ShipStation Account Currency matches your Ivorey™ store currency

4. Once complete, check the boxes in the integration settings and click [Connect]


Step 3: Add Shipping Options in Ivorey

1. From your Ivorey Dashboard, go to your [Account Settings] > [Integrations] and open ShipStation > Click [+ Add Shipping] Option

2. Enter a Shipping Option Name. This is what customers see at checkout

3. Select one or more carrier services (e.g., USPS Priority, UPS Ground, FedEx 2Day)

4. Set a Fallback Rate. This is used if live rates are unavailable

5. Click [Create]


Step 4: Test the Checkout Flow

1. Add a product to your store cart

2. Proceed to checkout

3. Review the Shipping step

4. Confirm that live ShipStation rates appear

5. If live rates don’t load, the fallback rate will apply automatically


Step 5: Fulfillment and Tracking

Once integrated, ShipStation becomes the central hub for managing order fulfillment, labels, and tracking.

Once connected:

1. Orders auto-sync into ShipStation


2. You can generate and print shipping labels


3. Mark orders as shipped from ShipStation


4. Tracking numbers sync back to Ivorey™ and are sent to customers automatically


Frequently Asked Questions

Why are live rates not showing at checkout?

Make sure the customer has entered a valid shipping address and that carriers are active in your ShipStation account.

What happens if live rates aren’t available at checkout?

The fallback flat rate you set during setup will automatically be applied.

Why is currency mismatched between my store and ShipStation?

Rates only calculate correctly if your Ivorey™ store currency matches your ShipStation account currency. Update settings in both ShipStation and Ivorey™ if needed.

How many carriers can I access with ShipStation Integration?

You can compare live shipping rates from over 50 carriers.

What details must be configured in my ShipStation account?

Ensure your carrier accounts, sender/receiver details, and shipping rules are all set up correctly in ShipStation.

How do tracking numbers get shared with customers?

When you mark an order as shipped in ShipStation, tracking details sync back to Ivorey™ and are sent via branded notifications.

Can I create multiple shipping tiers?

Yes. You can set up multiple options (e.g., Standard, Express, Priority) by selecting different carrier services.
