This guide will walk you through everything you need to offer Gift Cards inside your business: from creation, to checkout setup, to sending them directly to clients, and how they can redeem them on your checkouts.

Please note: Gift Cards are a native feature of Ivorey and allow you to offer a complete prepaid balance system that works across multiple checkout experiences.

Step 1: Create Your Gift Card Product

In this step, you will create your Gift Card Product and set up the design, denominations, expiry date, and other settings.

Click here for the written steps

1. From the left-hand menu of Ivorey, click Payments

2. Select Gift Cards

3. At the top right, click + Create Gift Card Product

4. Under Gift Card Name, enter the name you want your customers to see

5. Add your description, terms & conditions, and (optional) a redemption link

6. Under Artwork, upload your gift card design or create your own gradient
7. If required, set an expiry date

8. Under Denominations, click + Add Denomination and enter the price options you want to offer
9. (Optional) Enable Automatic Taxes under the Gift Card tax category

10. (Optional) Add Categories

11. Review the preview of your Gift Card

12. Click Create Gift Card Product

Important Note:

• Gift Card Products can be edited, archived, or deactivated anytime
• Deactivated Gift Cards will stop selling immediately on dedicated checkouts
• Inventory applies per denomination
• Taxes are fixed to the Gift Card tax category

Step 2: Sell Your Gift Cards

Your Gift Card Product will automatically generate a dedicated checkout page in both Test and Live modes.

Click here for the different ways to sell your gift cards

1. Dedicated Checkout Link
Perfect to add to your website, emails, or social media.

2. Embed Code
Add your Gift Card checkout directly to any webpage.

3. QR Code
Works great for in-store signage, posters, or printed material.

4. Existing Checkouts
Add your gift card product to funnels, forms, payment links, invoices, your store, calendar payments and websites,

5. Customer Purchase Flow
At checkout, customers can:

- Select a denomination

- Choose Buy for Yourself or Buy for Someone Else

- Enter purchaser + recipient details

- Choose immediate or scheduled delivery

- Complete payment in Live or Test mode based on the link used

Important Notes:

• Gift Cards sold in Test mode can only be redeemed in Test mode
• Gift Cards sold in Live mode can only be redeemed in Live mode
• Gift Cards purchased from existing checkouts are delivered to the email of the purchaser

Step 3: Send Gift Cards Directly (No Payment Required)

You can send a Gift Card directly to a customer without requiring a purchase. This is perfect for rewards, compensation, loyalty, or customer delight.

Click here for the written steps

  1. Go to Payments → Gift Cards

  2. Click Send Gift Card

  3. Choose a Customer from your list

  4. Add a personal message (or use Write with AI)

Step 4: Track Your Gift Cards (Gift Card Orders)

Keep track of the gift cards that you've sent and their status.

Click here for how to track your gift cards

Once your first Gift Card is issued or sold, a new tab will appear:

Payments → Gift Cards → Gift Card Orders

This page acts as your complete dashboard for all Gift Cards inside your account.

Inside the Gift Card Orders page, you will see:

• Purchaser details
• Recipient details
• Delivery method
• Status (Scheduled, Active, Inactive)
• Denomination
• Remaining balance
• Expiry date
• Hidden Gift Card number
• Full order details
• Inventory effects

Any card on this page can be clicked to open the full detail view.

Step 5: Redeem Gift Cards

Now that you've set up your gift cards, they are ready to be redeemed by your clients or customers. Read below to find our where gift cards can be redeemed, how redemption works, how they work with subscriptions and limitations.

Where Gift Cards Can Be Redeemed

• Funnels
• Forms
• Payment Links
• Invoices
• Store checkout
• Calendar Payments (when supported)
• Any checkout using supported payment processors (Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net, Square)

How Redemption Works

  1. Customer enters their Gift Card number at checkout

  2. The system displays the remaining balance

  3. The Gift Card can:
    • Cover the full purchase (if balance is sufficient), or
    • Cover a partial amount

  4. Any remaining amount will be charged to the customer’s payment method

How Gift Cards Work With Subscriptions

Please note that if a subscription product is in the cart, the system will request a backup payment method, even if the Gift Card covers the full first charge.

Gift Card Limitations

  • Gift Cards cannot be used for Upsells

  • Test cards cannot be redeemed on Live checkouts

  • Redeem option appears only when at least one Gift Card Product exists
