Gift Cards allow you to offer a complete prepaid balance system that works across multiple checkout experiences in Ivorey
.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to offer Gift Cards inside your business: from creation, to checkout setup, to sending them directly to clients, and how clients can redeem them on your checkouts.
Here you will learn how to create your gift card product, including the custom design, values, expiry date, and other settings.
From the main Ivorey
menu, go to [Payments] > [Gift Cards]
At the top right corner, click the [+ New Gift Card] button
Fill in the basic details:
Enter the Gift Card Name that you want your customers to see (e.g. Your Business Name Gift Card)
Add a Gift Card Description
Set an Expiry Date (optional)
Note: expiry dates are currently based on the date of card creation, not the date of purchase (this option is coming soon).
Select whether or not to include a URL (e.g. link to a page with redemption instructions)
Provide your Terms and Conditions (including any rules or restrictions)
Click the [Continue] button, at the bottom right corner
Customise the card design:
Select a Template: choose from previous gift card designs
Upload a Template: upload an image from your media library, or directly from your device (this will then become a template option for future cards)
Note: the maximum dimensions are 800x400 px.
Create Gradient: select brand aligned gradient colours and set the direction. Check the Add to Templates box to save this gradient for future cards (optional)
Click the [Continue] button, at the bottom right corner
Note: click the [Previous] button, at the bottom left corner, at any time to return to the previous step, without losing progress.
Set the card denominations and inventory:
Denomination Options: add one or more denominations by selecting from the preset values available or providing custom amounts
Tip: adding multiple options will allow customers to choose the card value they would like to purchase at checkout.
(Optional) Under Manage Gift Card Inventory, check the Define Quantity box to set the number of cards available, and choose whether or not to Allow Sales When Out of Stock
Note: inventory applies per denomination (e.g. if quantity is set to 100 with 2 denomination options, each denomination gets 100 - i.e. a total of 200 gift cards available).
Tax (optional): apply automatic tax calculation at checkout
Note: Automatic tax calculation for gift cards will only work when all three address fields (country, state and postal code) are provided at checkout. However, it's important to note that gift cards themselves are not taxable in many regions and taxes are instead applied when the gift card is used to purchase a taxable product.
Choose Categories (optional): create new, or choose from previously created, gift card categories to help filter and report on promotions
Click the [Continue] button, at the bottom right corner
Preview the card: click the pencil icon to the right of any section, to return to that step and make any edits needed
Click the [Create Gift Card] button to save the gift card product
Note: once saved you will not be able to edit the design of the card, all other details and settings will be editable. If you need to adjust the design or use a different image later, you’ll need to create a new gift card with the updated artwork.
Your Gift Card Product will now be displayed under the All Gift Cards tab. Here you can edit, deactivate/activate, or delete (archive) a gift card product at any time. This is also where you can sell or share your gift cards, which we will cover in the next steps.
Note: If a gift card product is deactivated, the dedicated checkout link stops working immediately. If the gift card was added as a product on any other checkout, it would still continue to be sold unless manually removed.
Now that you've created your gift card product, you're ready to start selling gift cards.
Dedicated Checkout
Your gift card product will automatically generate a dedicated checkout page, and you can share this in a few ways:
Link: You can link the checkout page to a button on your website, or send the link directly in emails or DMs.
Embed: You can embed the gift card checkout directly into any web page, whether built inside Ivorey
or externally, using the embed code.
QR Code: Download the checkout page QR code to use for in-store signage, posters, or any printed material.
Existing Checkouts
Add your gift card product to any existing checkouts inside Ivorey
that support products, including funnels, stores, payment links, invoices, and forms.

menu, go to [Payments] > [Gift Cards] > [All Gift Cards]
Locate the gift card you want to sell, and click the [Sell] button
Here, you can:
Copy the Live Mode Checkout Link, and paste the link in a button on your site, or send directly in an email, DM, or text message

At the top right corner of the screen, click the [Test Mode Checkout Link] button, to place a test purchase (we recommend testing before sharing the checkout publicly)

If you are using Square for your Payment Processor, you will first need to make sure Square Sandbox Mode is connected by going to [Payments] > [Settings] > and click [Connect] next to 'Square Sandbox Mode' > then you can use the dummy card number 4111 1111 1111 1111, with the CVC 111. You can also check this Square Article here for other Sandbox Cards to use for testing purposes.
Click the [Pay] button > and check your email for the gift card delivery
Once you have the gift card code, place a test purchase on one of your product/offer checkouts, to confirm that the gift card works correctly
Note: Gift cards purchased in Test Mode will only be redeemable on checkouts in Test Mode.
You can also share your checkout link using a QR Code:
Go to [Payments] > [Gift Cards] > [All Gift Cards]
Locate the gift card you want to sell, and click the [Share QR Code] button
Here, you can:
Click the [Download QR Code] button to save the QR Code image for printing/digital use
Click the [Share] button to share the QR Code image
Click the [Issue Gift Card] button to send the gift card to someone directly (with no purchase)
Copy the Gift Card 'Sell' URL link (this is the same as the Live Mode Checkout Link mentioned above)
You can add your gift card product to any existing checkouts on Ivorey
, as long as they support products.
Link your gift card product to your funnel the same way you would link any product. Please refer to Step 2 in our Add Products to a Sales Funnel guide for the full instructions, and return here for the remaining steps.

Select the [Order Form] element, to open the settings sidebar on the righthand side > and under Main Product Options, ensure that Enable Cart Mode is toggled ON. This will allow your customers to select the gift card product, as well as your main product offer, for purchase

Add the [Sell Products] element, from the Payments section > click the [Add Product] button, on the righthand sidebar > select your gift card product from the drop-down menu > and click the [Add Product] button, at the bottom
Adjust the display and layout settings as needed, and place a test purchase, before toggling the product payment to Live Mode > and click the [Save] button, at the top right corner of the screen
Note: the form must include the Email element, in order to deliver the gift card. Customers will be able to select the denomination they prefer, from a drop-down menu, when placing the purchase.
Note: Gift cards purchased from existing checkouts are delivered to the email address of the purchaser.

Yes, a gift card can be sold via its checkout link, QR, embed, and through any existing checkout that supports products, all at the same time. Inventory will be affected by sales made through all channels.
Yes, gift cards can be sold and redeemed through any of your default checkout payment providers. However, in the case of partial payments or subscription purchases, gift cards can only be redeemed on checkouts using Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net and Square (support for more providers is coming soon).
Yes, gift cards can be redeemed for subscriptions! However, please note that if a subscription product is in the cart, the system will request a backup payment method, even if the gift card covers the full first charge (for future billing).
It's also important to note that, for subscription purchases, gift cards can only be redeemed on checkouts using Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net and Square (support for more providers is coming soon).
No, currently you cannot designate which product/offer a gift card is for. Gift cards are redeemable on all products/offers (except for upsell or gift card purchases). However, product/variant-level controls are coming soon.

You cannot send a gift card to a contact, unless they have a valid email address or phone number.
No, currently the gift card delivery emails and SMS's are system-generated and are not editable. However, customisation is coming soon.
Gift Card orders are considered sold products. Even if the Gift Card itself has been deleted, the associated order records remain in the system. These records are retained for reporting, transaction history, and audit purposes, which is why they do not disappear after the Gift Card product is removed. Because of this, Gift Card orders cannot be deleted. This is the expected behavior of the platform.
At the moment, this isn’t possible within Ivorey
. If you’d like to include custom details such as the recipient’s name and a personalised message, gift cards need to be purchased one at a time. Bulk purchases currently don’t support adding individual recipient information or messages for each gift card.
The gift card field in the calendar booking is not something that can be manually enabled or turned on in settings. This field will only appear if there is an existing gift card purchase or order in the system. If no gift card has been purchased yet, the option to enter a gift card code will not be visible during booking.
