Getting Started With Sales Funnels
So... What's a sales funnel?
So... What's a sales funnel?
Are you wondering what a funnel actually is? When we refer to funnels at Ivorey™, we are talking about the funnels you can access from the main menu > [Site Pages] then > [Funnels].
These funnels are simply a set of pages that helps guide your audience on a particular journey. Unlike a website that allows people to click around into whatever pages and links they like, a funnel only provides one next step to take each time so they travel through a certain sequence of pages. A simple sales funnel looks like this:
A sales page (where you promote the offer and give all the details, encouraging people to buy)
A checkout page (where you have an order form they can pay through)
A thank you page (where you deliver the thing they purchased, or tell them to check their inbox for next steps/access. If what they purchased was a call, you could also add the calendar on this page to get them immediately booked in)
A workflow to tag that contact, send them a welcome email, and notify yourself of the sale.

What offers should NOT be sold through a sales funnel?
Sales funnels are powerful and perfect for selling courses, coaching, masterminds, fixed-price packages and more - but they’re not for every use case.
If you’re selling multiple products on one page and need 'add to cart' functionality. → Use the Online Store instead, which allows customers to browse, add to cart, and check out with multiple products all at once.
If your offer needs custom pricing → Use proposals and invoicing for offers that need tailored pricing, inclusions or approval before purchase.

Sales funnels unlock more advanced features when you're ready for them - such as adding on upsells, order bumps, abandon carts, and more to your funnel. They also give you complete design control, you can host the funnel pages on your own custom domain, and see all the funnel analytics (e.g. page views, conversions, order value)

What's the difference between the payment triggers in workflows?
What's the difference between the payment triggers in workflows?
Here's some info on the correct triggers to use for a sales funnel:
Order Form Submitted - If you use this trigger without applying any filters, it will trigger any time someone completes ANY step of your order form. Meaning, if someone completes their name and email then presses submit, it will trigger. Therefore, we only suggest using this trigger if you add the filter: Submission Type = Sale.
Order Submitted - This is the trigger we suggest using for purchases inside sales funnels. You can filter it down to the specific product and/or funnel. This ensures it only triggers when an order is made, rather than just the person submitting the first step of the order form.
Payment Received - This is a good global trigger because it doesn't just work for order forms, its based on any payment collected through Ivorey™ - e.g. a payment link, an order form, an invoice payment and more. But it will trigger every time a payment is received (eg every time an payment is received on a payment plan) which is why we don't suggest it in the case of a sales funnel.
What's the difference between a one-step and two-step order form?
What's the difference between a one-step and two-step order form?
A 1-step order form will show just one screen to give all their details and purchase the offer
A 2-step order form will first collect and save their details, and then on the next screen it will ask for their payment. Having these two steps means the form still submits their contact details, even if they abandon the cart (so you can follow-up and try close the sale!) This style of form is the most popular.

What's the difference between a website and a funnel?
What's the difference between a website and a funnel?
Use a website when:
You want visitors to freely explore multiple pages and offerings
You need a central hub for your brand with various sections (e.g., home, about, resources, contact)
You want to showcase your overall business and so viewers can explore all your offerings
Use funnels when:
You want to guide visitors through a specific journey (e.g. they must go through a specific set of pages in an exact order)
You want to track analytics and optimise your pages for increased sales conversions
You're selling a standalone product, course, or service
You want to include strategic elements at the checkouts like bump offers and upsells
Funnels are especially great for:
Promoting a freebie
Promoting a paid offer
Remember, you can use both! Your website can be your main hub, and then lead off into your different funnels for individual offers!
Can you host your website and funnels on the same domain in Ivorey?
Can you host your website and funnels on the same domain in Ivorey?
Yes, you can host both your website and funnels on the same domain in Ivorey. Here's how it works:
If you're building a website on Ivorey, you can use your main domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) for it.
You can use this same domain for all your funnels, online store, and blog - as long as they're built in Ivorey.
When publishing funnels, you can simply create different URL paths under your main domain. For example, yourdomain.com/funnel-name.
Alternatively - if your main domain is already being used on an external platform (not Ivorey) and you want to keep it live, then you can use a subdomain like offers.yourdomain.com for your Ivorey website and funnels.
Why is my product not showing on my order form/checkout page?
Why is my product not showing on my order form/checkout page?
While you are in editor view of your funnel, you won't see your product listed, it will just show as 'dynamic product'. This is because this is an auto-populated feature so that when you click through to 'preview' or 'publish' view of your funnel, the product you've connected will show on your order form - as long as you've connected your product to the order form page under the 'Products' tab, you will see it displayed on your order form when you are in preview or live view mode.
How do I see if a contact has taken a certain step inside my sales funnel, such as successful payment?
How do I see if a contact has taken a certain step inside my sales funnel, such as successful payment?
There are a few ways you can check to see if your contact has completed your two step order form and made payment successfully:
To see a contacts activity within your account, go to [Contacts] > look up their name > click into their contact profile > then on the right hand side you will be able to see their activity lodged under the 'Activity' tab
To see any payments a contact has made within your account, go to [Contacts] > look up their name > click into their contact profile > then on the right hand side click on the '$' icon located on the far right across from the activity tab.
You can also see any transactions made inside your Account by clients and customers by going to [Payments] > [Transactions]
If you are noticing that your customers are filling out your order form, but not submitting payment you can:Change your Order Form to a One Step instead of a Two Step order form so that their details and payments are collected in one action
Create an 'Abandon Cart Workflow' by following Step 8: (Optional) Create your Abandon Cart Workflow of the Funnels Guide above.

How do I connect an application form to my Sales Funnel?
How do I connect an application form to my Sales Funnel?
The best practice for adding an application form into your sales funnel is to setup your sales funnel following the steps below:
Funnel Step 1: Sales Page
Funnel Step 2: Order Checkout (if payment is required)
Funnel Step 3: Application Form
Funnel Step 4: Confirmation/Thank You page
This way your member is prompted to fill in their application at the time of purchase in order to complete their journey through your sales funnel.
From here you would then build your post-purchase workflow where you can set up the relevant tags and internal notifications, as well as automating any contracts or additional emails that may need to be sent to the member after they have completed the purchase and/or submitted the application form.
Why is my product not showing up in the order form?

To get your popup to show in your funnels, you just need to:
Click on the popup icon of your top menu bar
Then click on the [Popup Settings] button at the top of your popup
Next on the right hand side you'll see a settings menu > scroll down to 'Disable Popup'
Make sure this is toggled OFF so that your popup will show when your button is clicked.
What is the difference between the padding and margin settings?
What is the difference between the padding and margin settings?
The 'padding' is for internal spacing, and the 'margin' is for external spacing. For best practice, adjust the internal padding settings to format spacing between your elements.
Please note: Even when the margin settings are showing 0 or auto you may still need to manually adjust values manually to 0 to reset any spacing automatically created.
To adjust your margin and/or padding settings, click on the element directly > then click on the 'Styles' tab on the right-hand menu > and scroll to 'Margin & Padding'
