From the main Ivorey
menu, go to Media Library > along the top right click [Canva] > and click [Connect]
Click [Allow] to grant access
Return to your Media Storage, the Canva button will show as 'Connected'
From the dropdown menu on the top left of your screen, click the dropdown and select Canva to see, edit and import designs
When you open a media asset from within Ivorey
to edit in Canva, it will automatically launch the Canva editor in a new browser tab. From here, you can make edits directly in Canva as you normally would.
You’ll be able to edit the following files in Canva:
Canva designs opened directly from the Canva view (where permissions allow)
Files in My Media with these formats:
PNG
JPG
JPEG
Limitations:
Private Canva files cannot be edited
If a user is not the one who installed Canva and attempts to edit a Canva design, they’ll see: “You have view-only access to this media. To make changes, import it into your own storage or reach out to your admin for access.”
From the main Ivorey
menu, go to Media Library
To edit a design in Canva from the Media Storage, click on the three dots on the top right of the design you'd like to edit
Click on the [Edit in Canva] button
This will open the Canva editor in a new browser tab
.Downloading a design exports your Canva designs from Canva, into your local storage with a consistent format based on the number of pages the design has.
Download formats:
1-page design → PNG
Multi-page design → PDF
To download a Canva design directly from the Media Library inside Ivorey
to your local storage, from the main Ivorey
menu, go to Media Library
From the dropdown menu on the top left of your screen, click the dropdown and select 'Canva'
Click on the 'Download' button on the top right of the design.

Importing a Canva design creates a new, independent file in 'My Media'. This allows you to use the asset across Ivorey
.
Once imported, the file is no longer linked to the original Canva design. So any changes made in Canva after importing will not automatically update the version in 'My Media'.

To import a design from Canva into your Media Library, From the main Ivorey
menu, go to Media Library
From the dropdown menu on the top left of your screen, click the dropdown and select 'Canva'
Click on the three dots on the top right of the design you want to import and click on the [Import to Media Library] button
Because the Canva connection is installed at the account level, access differs depending on whether a user connected the integration.
Installer (the user who connects Canva):
Full edit access in Canva (when the Canva file allows editing)
Can import designs
Other users in the same account:
Can view, search, and browse Canva assets
Can download designs
Can import designs into their own My Media
Cannot connect a different Canva account unless the integration is uninstalled
Cannot directly edit Canva designs (view-only limitation)
Not supported:
Proxy users (Login As) do not have access
No, only one Canva account can be connected per account.
Only the installer has direct edit access due to Canva Marketplace restrictions. Other users can browse, download, and import, but will have view-only access when attempting to edit.
Canva designs in the Canva view are a content source. To use a design across Ivorey
, import it into My Media first.
No, importing a design creates a new independent asset in My Media and does not sync future Canva changes.
