This guide provides a clear, step-by-step process for migrating your client or member subscriptions to Ivorey
, ensuring your members continue receiving access without disruption.
If your subscription includes access to courses or a community, you will set those up separately using our dedicated migration guides.
This guide is perfect if you want to:
Migrate subscription-based memberships from platforms
Confirm whether your existing Stripe or PayPal subscriptions will continue running after leaving your previous platform
Ensure your members can continue accessing your courses or communities without interruption
Before setting up anything inside Ivorey
, you first need to confirm whether your existing subscriptions will continue running after you cancel your previous platform. Whether or not your current members need to re-enroll depends on how your subscriptions were originally set up.
If your payments are processed through Stripe or PayPal, they might continue running even if you cancel your current platform (e.g. Stan, Kajabi, etc.). However, this depends entirely on your existing provider’s discretion - the best thing to do is contact them directly to confirm before you make any moves.
If your subscriptions DO continue
You’ll still get paid through Stripe or PayPal, but those payments won’t show up inside Ivorey’s analytics since the original sale didn’t happen here. That’s totally fine, you can simply grant access to your members once they are added as contacts in Ivorey
.
If your subscriptions DO NOT continue
Those payments will stop when you leave your old platform. In this case, you have two options depending on where each member is in their billing cycle:
Members with remaining paid access (e.g. mid-way through an annual plan) - you don’t need to ask these members to pay again. Instead, you can grant them access manually or set up a free $0 offer inside Ivorey
, that they can use to enrol themselves. This triggers the access workflow automatically, without charging them. You can move them onto a paid subscription when their current period ends.
Members whose billing has lapsed or is due for renewal - these members will need to re-subscribe through your new Ivorey
checkout link.
Done means:
You have confirmed whether your subscriptions will continue through Stripe or PayPal
You understand whether members will need to re-subscribe, receive free access, or be granted manual access
You know which path applies to each member
Once the above is done, go ahead and progress to Step 2.
You only need to complete this step if your membership hasn't already been created inside Ivorey
. If your membership includes a course or community, please refer to the relevant migration guide below:
We recommend completing those guides first, as they will walk you through creating the products and access points your members need.
If your membership doesn't include a course or community, you'll need to create a product and offer inside Ivorey
so members have something to enrol into. For step-by-step instructions, refer to our Products & Payments Master Help Guide.
Done means:
You have completed the Course and/or Community Migration Guides if applicable
Your offer exists inside Ivorey
and is ready to grant or sell access
Once the above is done, go ahead and progress to Step 3.
In many cases, your members will already be imported as part of your course or community migration, so you won't need to do this twice. Only complete this step if you have not already imported your members through another migration or setup guide.
Please refer to our Import Contacts and Tags guide for step-by-step instructions.
Done means:
All members exist as contacts inside Ivorey
Members are tagged appropriately
You have no duplicate contacts
Once the above is done, go ahead and progress to Step 4.
Once your members are in Ivorey
as contacts, you need to make sure they can actually access their membership content. This applies whether your subscriptions are continuing or not - your members will always need to be granted access inside Ivorey
separately.
Depending on your setup, this may include granting access to a course, a community, or both:
If your students have already paid, if their billing remains on an existing platform, or if they should get access for free - you can manually grant them access. This will mean your students receive an email prompting them to login to the new platform, with no payment required. Please refer to our Manually Grant Course or Community Access guide for the detailed steps.
If your existing students billing will be cancelled when you leave your old platform, then you’ll want to set up a new subscription for them through Ivorey
. You can send them the link to the checkout you created during the Course or Community migration, or you can set up a quick payment link for them instead (takes 1 minute, and they can skip the sales pitch).
If your membership does not include a course or community, how you deliver and grant access will depend on what your members receive. This could include a client portal with exclusive content, a paid newsletter, or a members-only resource library. If you're unsure how to structure your specific setup, reach out via the support chat and we'll help you map it out.
Done means:
All members have been granted access to the relevant content inside Ivorey
You've confirmed access is working correctly
Once the above is done, go ahead and progress to Step 5.
Once everything is set up and access has been confirmed, it's time to let your members know about the change. Even if their subscriptions continue automatically, they'll still need new login details to access their content inside Ivorey
.
If your subscriptions ARE continuing
Your members will continue being billed through Stripe or PayPal as usual. However, you should still notify them that the membership platform has moved and provide instructions for logging in.
If your subscriptions are NOT continuing
How you communicate this depends on where each member stands:
Members with remaining paid access - let them know that they can access their membership via a new login link (or share the free enrolment link) without being charged. Reassure them that their access will continue as normal.
Members due for renewal - let them know the platform has moved and share your new Ivorey
checkout link for them to re-subscribe.
Done means:
Your members have been notified about the platform move
Members understand how to access their membership in Ivorey
Members have either logged in successfully, enrolled via the free link or re-subscribed, as needed
Once the above is done, go ahead and progress to Step 6.
Once all steps above are complete, and your membership subscriptions are fully operational inside Ivorey
, you can go ahead and cancel your subscription.
Congratulations, your migration is complete!
