Create and Customise a Survey

How to Build and Customise a Survey

In this step, we will walk you through how to create a survey, add questions and answer options, add slides, create custom fields, and customise the design.

  1. From the main Ivorey™ menu, go to Site Pages > then along the top menu bar hover over Surveys > and click [Builder]

  2. Click the [+ Create New] button > and name your survey by clicking the ✏️ pencil icon, at the top of your screen

  3. On the left-hand side, you will see a menu bar where you can drag and drop the elements you want to include in your form:

    1. The elements under the Personal Info section are pre-made elements you can drag and drop to collect the contact's details

    2. The elements under the Payments section offer the option to collect payment through your survey

      Note: payment functionality in surveys is limited. For example, you can't offer coupon codes or other payment options like AfterPay. For more payment functionality, we recommend creating a Sales Funnel and using the order form feature instead.

    3. The elements under the Addresses section are pre-made elements you can drag and drop to collect the contact's address details

    4. The elements under the Text and Choice Elements section are designed for you to customise to your specific questions. Here, you have the option to select if you want text, drop-down or checklist formatting

    5. The Rating element allows you to collect ratings inside your surveys

    6. The elements under the Customised and Other sections allow you to embed additional elements like headings, extra copy, images, files, dates and collect signatures if required

    Drag and drop the elements you want to add to your survey, until you have added all the questions and details you want to your collect. To create a new slide, click the [+] icon under the first slide and continue this process until your survey is complete

    Note: Surveys are most effective with only 1-2 questions per page/slide, to create an interactive experience and reduce overwhelm for the contact submitting the survey.

  4. When creating custom fields:

    1. Drag and drop the element you want to use > click on the element > type your question into the Label field and the Query Key field, in the right-hand side menu

    2. To have more control over how your custom fields are stored, you can click on the [Custom Fields] tab and add them from there instead​

  5. Make sure you click the [Save] button, in the top right corner, regularly as you build your survey to save your changes

  6. Once you have finished building your survey, it is time to customise it to your branding! Click on any specific element > and click the ⚙️ settings icon, to customise the element (colours, fonts, spacing, padding, etc.)

  7. To customise the overall survey settings, click the Styles & Options icon, in the top right corner of your screen:

    1. Here, you can work through each of the drop-downs to customise the layout, background, footer design, and colours

    2. Click the [Advanced Settings] to customise your fonts and colours for each section of your survey, inside each drop-down

  8. When you're finished, click the [Save] button, in the top right corner
