Before You Dive In

This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Products and Payments. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical setup below.

Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan - teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.

This guide is perfect if you're looking to:

  • Create a new coupon code

  • Choose how to collect payments with coupon codes

  • Use a coupon code on an order form on your website/funnel

  • Use a coupon code on a paid calendar

Step 1: Create a New Coupon Code

Creating a coupon code in Ivorey lets you give discounts to your customers. You can choose between percentage-based or fixed amount discounts, set start/end dates, limit how many times it can be used, restrict it to certain products, and decide if it applies to just the first payment or to ongoing subscription payments.

  1. To create a new coupon code in Ivorey, go to [Payments] > [Coupons] > [Create New Coupon]. Enter an internal name (for your own reference) and a coupon code (that customers will use at checkout).

You can choose to type your own (e.g. BLACKFRIDAY) or click [Generate] for a random code. Using something short and easy to remember is recommended.

  2. Select the coupon type:

    • Percentage: A % discount that works for all currencies.

    • Fixed: A set amount (e.g. $10 off). This uses the default currency from your account’s Business Settings based on your business address.

  3. Enter the discount amount (e.g. 50% or $20) and set the start date/time and optional end date/time. These use your account’s time zone, which is set in [Settings] > [Business Settings].

  4. (Optional) Add restrictions:

    • Limit total redemptions: e.g. 100 uses in total.

    • Limit to specific products: Leave blank for site-wide, or choose products the discount applies to.

    • Limit to one use per customer: Prevents the same email from reusing the code.

  5. If the coupon is for a subscription or payment plan, decide if it should only apply to the first payment (default) or to recurring payments. To discount future payments, tick Apply to recurring payments and set it to either “Forever” or a set number of months (e.g. first 3 months).

  6. Click Create to save. The coupon can now be used anywhere in Ivorey that accepts coupon codes (order forms in websites/funnels and payment links)

Step 2: Choose How to Collect Payments with Coupon Codes

1️⃣ Option 1: Send a payment link with the coupon code field

Using a coupon code inside a payment link lets you offer discounts directly at checkout without needing a full sales page or funnel. This is ideal for offers you don't yet have a proper sales page for, and you can even customise the payment link to pre-populate your contacts name, auto-apply the coupon code, and even set an expiry date.

Click here for the written steps

Before you start:

  • Make sure you’ve already created your coupon code in [Payments] > [Coupons].

  • Make sure your products are set up in [Payments] < [Products].

Steps to create a payment link with coupon code:

  1. Go to [Payments] > [Payment Links] and click [Create New Payment Link].

  2. From the dropdown, choose the offer/product you want to sell.

  3. Adjust your checkout settings:

    • Decide if you want to collect phone numbers or addresses.

    • Important: Tick [Allow Coupon Code] so the coupon box appears at checkout. ‼️ If unticked, the box will be hidden.

    • Choose your call-to-action button text (e.g. Pay, Book, Donate). Add branding, terms & conditions, and (optional) an expiry date for the entire payment link (optional). Note: Coupon codes can already have their own expiry date in coupon settings ([Products] > [Coupons]). The payment link expiry date stops the entire checkout from working after that date.

  4. Switch the payment link to Live Mode and click Save.

Sharing your payment link:

  • Standard Link: After saving, click Copy Link to get a general link you can send to anyone (via email, social media, etc.).

  • Custom Link for a Contact: Click [Customize Link], choose a contact from your list, and (optional) select a coupon code to auto-apply. This creates a link pre-filled with the person’s name and discount so they can checkout faster.

2️⃣ Option 2: Use a Coupon Code on an Order Form on your Website/Funnel

Using a coupon code on a funnel or website checkout lets customers enter a discount code directly on your sales page. This works for any funnel or website page with an order form.

Click here for the written steps

Before you start

  • Make sure your product is created in [Payments] > [Products].

  • Make sure your coupon code is created in [Payments] > [Coupons].

Steps to enable coupon codes on a funnel or website checkout:

  1. Go to [Sites] > [Funnels] or [Sites] > [Websites] (depending on where your sales page is built).

  2. Open the funnel or website, then click the order/checkout page where the purchase will happen.

  3. Click [Edit] to open the page editor and click on your Order Form - you should see an orange outline appear around your form. If your page doesn’t already have an order form, click [Add Element], search for 'Order Form' and drag it onto the page.

  4. In the right-hand settings panel, scroll to 'Coupon Options' and toggle on [Enable Coupon Code Field]. You’ll see the coupon field and Apply button now appear on your order form.

  5. Click [Save] in the page editor.

Link the order form to a product:

  1. Go back to the main funnel/website view where you see all the pages.

  2. Select your order page and click the [Products] tab.

  3. From the dropdown, choose the product you want to sell on this checkout form (this will pull in products you’ve set up in [Payments] < [Products]).

  4. Click [Save].

Once these two steps are done (coupon field enabled + product assigned), your checkout form is ready to accept coupon codes. Customers will be able to enter any valid code you’ve set up in your coupon settings and receive the correct discount at checkout.

IMPORTANT: Ensure you follow our full Sales Funnel Master Help Guide for how to build a full funnel - this training is just for the coupon settings at the checkout.

3️⃣ Option 3: Use a Coupon Code on a Paid Calendar

This feature allows you to create coupon codes via the Payments tab to use on a calendar that takes payments.
