This article will help you set up an RSS feed on your blog. A blog RSS feed maintains a list of new content on your blog. This list will be automatically provided to individuals who are subscribed to that feed. For email marketing, you can create an email template that includes your RSS feed, which can automatically send out updates about your blog to your subscribers.
This guide is perfect if you want to:
Set up an RSS feed for your blog
Set up an email campaign
Automate distribution of your blog updates to your email list
In this step, you will configure the settings for the RSS feed, before adding it to emails.
From the Ivorey
main menu, go to Site Pages > Blogs > in the top right corner, click the
gear icon for Settings > then click on the [RSS] tab
Click the [+ Add RSS Feed] button:
Enter in an RSS Feed Name
Select your blog from the drop-down menu
Set the No. of Posts to include in your feed (the maximum is 100)
Choose whether to Load Full Content in the feed, or leave unchecked to include summaries instead
Copy the link of your new RSS Feed, and save it somewhere to use in the upcoming steps > and click the [Add] button
Now you can create an email campaign, featuring your new blog RSS feed, to send blog updates to your email list.
From the Ivorey
main menu, go to Marketing > Emails > and click on the [Campaigns] tab
Click the [+ New] button > select [+ Blank] to design from scratch or select [Email Marketing Templates] to open the Template Library, where you can select one of our templates to customise > select the [Premium Newsletter Collection], under Browse Categories, on the left-hand side > to [Preview] and [Choose] one of our premium templates to customise
Inside the email template, click the [+] icon, from the top left tool bar, to add a new element > drag and drop the [RSS Header] and [RSS Items] into the email design
Customise the template to match your branding and style, change colours, fonts, logos, etc.
Once the email is ready to send, click the [Send or Schedule] button, in the top right corner > and select the [RSS Schedule] option:
Paste in the RSS Feed URL that you copied during the setup step - If you need to locate this URL again, you can go back to Site Pages > Blogs > Settings gear icon > RSS Feeds
Select the frequency and time you would like this email to send on. For example, you may select every week on Monday at 6pm
Fill in your email sending information, subject line and preview text, and select the recipients
Note: Please refer to our Smart Lists guide for how to create an email segment.
Click the [Preview] button, at the top right corner of the screen, to review your final email - be sure to check both the Desktop and Mobile views
