This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Domains. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical setup below.
Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan - teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.
This guide is perfect if you're looking to:
Create a custom branded domain so your Ivorey
forms, calendars, invoices, and proposals reflect your business identity
Update your DNS records with your domain provider, to include your new branded domain
Not to be confused with a domain for your website, a branded domain in Ivorey
allows you to replace the system-generated URLs used for calendars, forms, invoices and proposals with a custom subdomain.
This adds a layer of brand professionalism to client-facing links, especially useful if you're working with multiple touchpoints like booking links and proposals. However, this is an optional step. If you do not set it up, Ivorey
will generate a generic URL for you to use instead.
From the Ivorey
main menu, go to Settings > Domains > then click [+ Connect a Domain]
Note: if you don't own a domain yet, you will first need to purchase a domain with a provider (e.g. GoDaddy), or directly through Ivorey
by selecting [Purchase a Domain] here.
On the Branded Domain tab, click [Connect →] > this will then re-direct you to the branded domain settings, also found by going to Settings > Business > [Branded Domain]
Inside your Business Settings, add your branded domain (e.g. links.yourdomain.com) > then click [+ Add Domain]
Depending on who your domain provider is, you may be able to click [Continue] to have these DNS records updated inside your domain automatically. However, in most cases, you will need to click [Add Record Manually] to manually update your DNS records
To add the records to your DNS settings, you will need to log into the platform your domain is hosted with (e.g. GoDaddy), and add these DNS records inside the DNS settings. Alternatively, you can share these records with your Domain Provider directly through their chat support, as they will be able to update your DNS records for you
Once these records have been added, you will now see your branded domain in the share link URL's of your Forms, Calendars, Proposals and Invoices.
Note: if your proposals, calendar, or form share links are redirecting to your website or funnel, it’s likely due to the branded domain you’ve set in your business settings. Please go to Settings > Business > [Branded Domain], to review the domain currently in use, and follow the steps above to adjust it if needed.
Yes, you need to already own a main domain in order to create the branded subdomain. You can purchase one from a provider like GoDaddy or Google Domains, or purchase a domain directly inside Ivorey
