DomainsBefore you steam ahead setting up your domains, here's some good-to-know information that will ensure you understand how domains work in Ivorey
, and which ones you might need.
There are multiple domain connections available inside of Ivorey
:
Website/Main Domain (recommended) - A domain to use for any websites, funnels, online stores or blogs you build in Ivorey
(e.g. yourdomain.com). This will also be the base for any subdomains created (e.g. mail.yourdomain.com, or members.yourdomain.com). You can connect a domain you already own, or purchase a new one.
Email Sending Domain (recommended) - A dedicated subdomain used to send your emails through (e.g. mail.yourdomain.com). No one will actually see this domain, but it allows you to improve your long-term email deliverability and domain reputation.
Branded Domain (optional) - A custom subdomain to use for your Ivorey
calendars, forms and invoice links, instead of using the generic URL's that the system generates.
Client Portal Domain (optional) - A custom subdomain to use for your client portal (e.g. clients.yourdomain.com or members.yourdomain.com), instead of using the semi-custom URL that the system generates.
Follow these steps in order - we've linked every step and resource you'll need below. Open the first one in a new tab, and come back to this master guide which acts like your project plan, giving you everything you'll need along the way.

If you're building a website on Ivorey
, it is best practice to connect it to your main domain. You can also use the same main domain for all of your funnels, online store and blog - as long as they are all built in Ivorey
.
Note: Your main domain should NOT be connected to your client portal URL, your branded domain, or your dedicated email sending domain - these should all be set up as NEW sub-domains.
Currently, .com.au domains are not supported for transfer or purchase within Ivorey
. This is due to the specific registry and eligibility requirements that apply to these domains, which differ from many other domain extensions.
If you’d like to use a .com.au domain, the best alternative is to purchase it through a third-party domain provider (such as GoDaddy or Namecheap) and then connect it to Ivorey
by adding the required DNS records. This will allow your domain to work seamlessly with your Ivorey
account, even though the domain itself is managed externally.
Yes, if you are in a rush to publish a website or funnel page/s, you can simply share the preview link to the page without needing to publish it live to your own domain. To do this, simply press the
icon to preview the page, and copy/paste the generic link to share with your audience.
Yes, you can keep your Google Workspace when transferring your domain. When a domain transfer happens, only the domain registrar changes. Your Google Workspace account, emails, and services remain with Google and will continue to work as long as your Workspace subscription is active. After transferring the domain, you will need to update the DNS records in the new registrar, including records such as:
MX
TXT
CNAME
These records ensure that Google Workspace continues to handle your email and other services properly. As long as the DNS records are correctly configured and your Google Workspace subscription is active, your email and Workspace services will continue to work without interruption.
