This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Blogs. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical breakdown below.
Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan – teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.
This guide is perfect if you want to:
Set up a blog
Launch a blog quickly using one of our premium Ivorey
blog templates
Customise blog colours, fonts, logos, images, and navigation
Configure your blog name, domain, and URL slug
Understand how dynamic blog post sections work before publishing
We have created beautiful blog templates to help get you started and save you time. In this step, you will choose a blog template, customise it to match your branding and style, and configure some important blog settings.
From the Ivorey
main menu, go to Site Pages > then along the top menu bar, click [Blogs]
In the top right corner of the scree, click the [↓] down arrow, next to the Create Blog Site button > and select either [Create Blog] to design from scratch or [Create Blog from Template] to open the Template Library > click to [Preview] our blog templates > and click [Choose Template] to start customising the one you love most
Once the blog template has loaded into your account, click the [Edit Blog Site] button, at the top right corner of your screen, to customise the appearance and branding of your blog
Please refer to our Design & Customise Your Site Pages guide to understand how our site/page builder works, and for all the steps on how to customise your blog pages
Note: The Blog Post element is a dynamic element, which means even when you have created your blog posts, you will still see the system placeholders while in editor mode. This is just to show you the overall layout of your blog posts, and these will automatically populate with any published blog posts you've created, when in preview or live mode. To see the blog site with your published blog posts, click the [Preview] button.
Once you have finished customising your blog home and post pages, click the Save Icon in the top right corner > and click the [← Back] button, in the top left corner, to navigate back to the main blog area
In the top right corner, click the [⁝] three dots, to the right of the New Post button > and select [Settings]:
Blog site title: this is what appears in a browser tab title and in search results
Domain & Slug: select your domain from the drop-down menu (e.g. yourdomain.com) or leave this blank until you aren't ready to publish your blog, as you can add your domain later > then add your slug (e.g. /blog)
Blog Meta Description: this is a is a short summary or snippet of your blog site
Under Advanced Settings: you can add a Favicon, canonical link, head tracking code, body tracking code, select a chat widget, and toggle ON/OFF GDPR compliant fonts
Once you have updated the blog settings, click the [Update] button, to save your changes
You're now ready to start creating your first post! Please continue to the next guide, where we will walk you through all the steps.
