Before You Dive In

This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Courses. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical setup below.

Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan - teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.

This guide is perfect if you're looking to:

  • Rebrand an already existing course with your new custom theme template

Prerequisite: Ensure you have already created your custom course theme template. If you have not yet done so, please refer to Step 4 in our Create a Course and Course Offer guide.

How to Apply a Custom Theme Template to an Existing Course

Once you've created a custom course theme template, you can apply it to any already existing courses, to keep your branding and formatting consistent.

Click here for the written steps

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, go to [Courses] > then along the top menu bar, hover over [Courses] > and click [Products]

  2. Find the course you want to apply the template to > click the three dots (⁝) > then click [Edit Details]

  3. If this course is not yet published with active members, click the [Outline] tab, on the left-hand side > make sure at least one of your modules, sub-modules and lessons are set to [Published]. If they are all in Draft mode, they will not display when customising your template. Once you're done customising, you can set them back to Draft if needed

  4. Click the [Customize] tab, on the left-hand side > and scroll down to the My Templates section

  5. If you have already created your custom course theme template, you will see it displayed here under My Templates. If you have not yet created it, please refer to Step 4 in our Create a Course and Course Offer guide and come back here once completed

  6. Click the [Apply] button on your custom theme template, under My Templates. Note: if you click the [Customise] button here, you will be customising your original saved template, which will affect any course using this template

  7. You will now see this theme is active, under the Current Theme section at the top > click the [Customise] button on your new current theme. Note: any customisations made here will only affect this course, not your original saved template

  8. Make your way through each drop down inside the tabs on the left-hand side, and make any adjustments needed. If you used template/placeholder text and images when creating your template, as suggested, you can now customise these as needed

  9. Once you have finished customising the Product page, click the drop-down next to Pages at the top > select [Lesson] and make your way through each of the drop downs inside this tab to customise your lesson page

  10. When you have customised your template as needed, click the [Preview] button in the top right-hand corner of your screen. If you are happy with everything, click the [Save and Apply] button > then click the [← Back] button in the top left-hand corner of your screen
