Publish and Share Your Event

Learn how to publish and share or embed your event page, and access our step-by-step instructions, FAQs, and everything you need to know!

Before You Dive In

This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Events. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical breakdown below.

Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan – teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.

This guide is perfect if you want to:

  • Publish your Ivorey™ event, so people can start registering

  • Give your event a clear, memorable web address

  • Share your event link in emails, messages, or on social media

  • Display your event and registration directly on your Ivorey™ website or funnel

  • Embed your event on an external website (e.g. Squarespace or WordPress)

Step 1: Customise Your Event Link and Favicon

Your event link is the web address attendees visit to view and register for your event. Giving it a clear path (e.g. the name of your event) makes it easier to share and recognise, and adding a favicon displays your chosen icon in the browser tab.

Click here for the written steps
  1. From the main Ivorey™ menu, go to Courses > [Events] > and open the event you want to manage

  2. Click on the [Settings] tab along the top > and from the left-hand menu, click on [Link & tracking]

  3. Under URL slug, enter the path you would like to use for your event link (e.g. your-event-name). The first part of your link (e.g. yourdomain.com/events/) is filled in for you, and the domain your event link is reserved on displays underneath

Note: If you have set up a branded domain in your Ivorey™ account, it will display here as the root domain of your event link. To set one up, head to our Set Up a Branded Domain guide.

  4. Scroll down to Favicon > click [Click to upload] or drag and drop the image you would like to display in the browser tab of your event page

Note: Favicons display very small so a simple image works best, such as your logo icon, your brand initials, or a simple event logo. Use a PNG or JPG image, ideally square, with a maximum file size of 5 MB.

  5. Click [Save changes] at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen

Step 2: Publish and Test Your Event

Congratulations, your event is ready to go live! 🥂 Your event page can only be fully previewed once it's published, so you'll publish with payment in test mode first, then run a test registration to make sure everything works, before you share it with your audience.

Click here for the written steps
  1. From the main Ivorey™ menu, go to Courses > [Events] > and open the event you want to publish

  2. (Ticketed events only) Click on the [Settings] tab along the top > from the left-hand menu, click on [Payments] > and make sure the Live mode toggle is turned OFF, so your event runs in test mode

Note: RSVP events don't have a test mode, as there's no payment involved.

  3. Click [Publish event] at the top right-hand corner of your screen > and click [Preview]

  4. Review your event page > and register for the event as if you were an attendee, using a real email address you can check:

    1. Ticketed events - select a ticket > and complete the checkout using test card details

Note: Head to our Test a Sales Funnel guide for test card details to use.

    2. RSVP events - complete your RSVP

  5. Once you've registered, check that everything worked as expected:

    1. Your test registration appears in your event's [Registrations] tab

    2. You received the correct attendee notifications (e.g. your registration confirmation), and your team received the correct organiser notifications

    3. Any workflows connected to your event fired correctly > check the Executions Logs tab, in your workflow, to see if there were any errors

Note: If anything didn't work as expected, make any necessary adjustments and run another test registration.

  6. When you're happy that everything is working correctly, go back to your event [Registrations] tab > and remove your test registration

  7. (Ticketed events only) Go back to your event [Settings] > [Payments] > and turn on Live mode, otherwise no real payments will be processed

Step 3: Share or Embed Your Event Page

Once your event is set up and published, you can share it with your audience in two ways. Send people a direct link to your event page, or embed the full event page onto a website or funnel page, so attendees can view your event details and register in one place.

Click here for the written steps
  1. From the main Ivorey™ menu, go to Courses > [Events] > and find the event you want to share

  2. Click the [⁝] three dots at the top right corner of your event > and click [Copy event link] to quickly grab the URL

  3. Click on your event, to open it and get embed code from one of these places:

    1. Click the [⁝] three dots at the top right corner of your screen (next to the Clone Event button) > and click [Share event]

      1. Event link - Click the [⧉] copy icon next to your Event URL

      2. Embed code - Click [⧉ Copy embed code]

    2. Click on the [Settings] tab > from the left-hand menu, click on [Link & tracking] > and in the Embed code section, click the [⧉] copy icon

Where to Share and Embed Your Event Page

To share your event link, paste it wherever you would like to share it such as an email, a message, a social media post, or a website button.

You can embed your event page on any page that supports custom code. Here are some of the best places to put it, so your event reaches people who are most likely to register:

  • Your website - add your event to your home page or an events page, whether your website is built in Ivorey™ or on another platform (e.g. Squarespace or WordPress). Visit our Site Pages guide for more guidance on website & funnel customisation.

  • Your funnels - include your event as an upsell in a funnel, so it becomes part of your wider marketing journey. Head to our Add Products to a Sales Funnel guide to learn how to add an upsell.

  • Blog posts - embed your event within a related blog post, to reach readers who are already engaged with your content. Learn how in our Create a Blog Post guide.
