Before You Dive In

This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Webinar Funnels. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical setup below.

Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan - teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.

This guide is perfect if you want to:

  • Connect a webinar funnel domain and customise the path (URL)

  • Test a webinar funnel from start to finish, and place a test purchase

Step 1: Finalise Your Webinar Funnel Settings and URL

Before you test your funnel and take it public, there are some settings that will need to be finalised.

Click here for the written steps

  1. From the main Ivorey menu, go to [Site Pages] > click on the [Webinars] tab > open your webinar funnel > and click on the [Settings] tab, to update the:

    1. Funnel Name

    2. Domain - select your main domain from the drop-down. If you haven't already connected your domain to Ivorey, please refer to our All About Domains guide for the details.

    3. Path: here you can customise the path for your funnel's URL (e.g. yourdomain.com/webinar-name)

    4. Favicon URL: paste in the image URL for your favicon (small icon in a browser tab)

    5. Tracking Codes (Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, etc.)

    6. Chat Widget: toggle ON if you've set up an Ivorey™ chat widget

    7. Payment Mode: Set to Live when you're ready to accept payments, or Test when you want to do testing (set to Test for the next step)

    8. Require Credit Card: Keep enabled

    9. Image Optimisation: Turn OFF to preserve image quality

    10. Optimize JavaScript: Leave ON unless using heavy custom code

    11. GDPR Compliant Fonts: Enable or Disable as needed

  2. Click the [Save] button, in the bottom right corner

Step 2: Test Your Webinar Funnel and Place a Test Purchase

Now it's time to do a full run-through of your webinar funnel and place a test purchase, so you can check that the forms, buttons, videos, and workflows are all working correctly.

Click here for the written steps

  1. Paste your webinar funnel URL (e.g. yourdomain.com/webinar-name) into a new browser to go through the registration and checkout processes

  2. On the Registration Page:

    1. Check that all the buttons are working correctly

    2. Enter your real email address into the registration form, so that you can check that you receive the confirmation email successfully:

      1. If you don't receive the email, go to your workflow and check the [Execution Logs] tab to see what the error is, then try again until you are successful

      2. Check that all the links in the email are working correctly

  3. For Live Webinar Funnels - On the Broadcast/Expired Page:

    1. If you want to test that the redirect link on the timer will work correctly - go back into the page editor, to the countdown timer settings, and change the link to a dummy event (you will need to set this up inside your live streaming platform first), and set the date and time to 10/15 mins from now. Go back to the published page, and wait to see if you are redirected to the live stream, when the timer hits zero

Note: Make sure to set it back to the real live stream link and time after testing!

    2. Check that the CTA button is working correctly

    3. After your webinar ends and it's time to upload the replay video, it's important to test the published page again to see that the video is working correctly

  4. For On-Demand Funnels - On the Broadcast Page:

    1. Check that the video is working correctly

    2. Check that the CTA button is working correctly

  5. On the Order Page:

    1. Enter your real email address into the order form, so that you can check that you receive the post-purchase emails successfully

    2. Enter dummy credit card details to the order form:

      1. If you are using Stripe for your Payment Processor please use the dummy card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any expiry date (in the future) and any 3 digits for the CVC. You can also refer to this Stripe Article here for dummy card testing

      2. If you are using Square for your Payment Processor, you will first need to make sure Square Sandbox Mode is connected by going to [Payments] > [Integrations] > and click [Connect] next to 'Square Sandbox Mode'. Then you can use the dummy card number 4111 1111 1111 1111 with the CVC 111. You can also check this Square Article here for other Sandbox Cards to use for testing purposes

    3. Check if you received the post-purchase emails and internal notifications:

      1. If you don't receive the email, go to your workflow and check the [Execution Logs] tab to see what the error is, then try again until you are successful

      2. Check that all the links in the email are working correctly

  6. Check that the order processed correctly:

    1. You should see the new contact created in the [Contacts] tab of the Ivorey™ CRM. Click on the contact > click on the [Payments] tab, in the right hand panel > you should see all the transaction details

    2. You should also see any emails that sent in the main messaging panel, in the middle

    3. To see any automations that fired or course/community access that was granted, click on the [Actions] tab in the Contact Details panel, on the left > click the drop-down arrows on the [Workflows] and [Client Portal] tabs

  7. If anything didn't trigger correctly and you've self-checked your work but can't find the issue - please reach out via the Help Widget so we can assist

  8. Once you have gone through the test checkout process, go back to your Funnel Settings and make sure you have toggled the Payment Mode to Live

  9. Now your ready to share your webinar funnel link with your community, and start getting sign-ups! 🎉
