Before You Dive In

This article is one step from our Master Help Guide: All About Products and Payments. We recommend starting with the visual walkthrough video and examples inside the Master Help Guide before diving into the technical setup below.

Each Master Help Guide acts as your project plan - teaching you the feature, laying out the steps in the right order, and linking to every resource you’ll need along the way.

This guide is perfect if you're looking to:

  • Enable Afterpay, Klarna etc. in Stripe

  • Disable Afterpay, Klarna etc. in Stripe

How to Enable or Disable Afterpay, Klarna etc. in Stripe

Stripe automatically enables certain payment methods by default to encourage their use, including Afterpay and Klarna.

‼️ To ensure they don’t appear on your Ivorey checkouts, funnels, calendars, online stores and more - you must explicitly disable them in every relevant category via your Stripe Account.

Alternatively, if you would like to have these payment options turned on, follow the same steps in the video below, but ensure you have these settings toggled on instead.

NOTE: Afterpay isn't available for recurring payments, and will only display on checkouts as an available payment option where a one time payment is connected.

Click for written steps

  1. Login to Stripe

  2. Locate the search bar inside your Stripe Dashboard

  3. Type in 'Payment Methods'

  4. In the drop down, locate the 'GO TO' heading and click on the option that says: 'Settings > Payments > Payment Methods'

  5. When you're inside payment methods, scroll until you locate the 'Buy Now Pay Later' section on the page.

  6. Underneath that heading you will see the different options available such as Afterpay/Clearpay, Klarna or Zip and the option to 'Turn on' or 'Turn off'. Ensure that these reflect whether you want these features turned on or turned off.

  7. Afterwards it's important to go back to the top of the 'Payment Methods' page inside Stripe, and click on the drop-down button that says 'Default'. Click on 'Billing Payments'. Once here, click 'Turn on' or 'Turn off' according to your preference again.

  8. ‼️Be sure to work through the rest of the filtering categories and ensure that the payment methods are turned on or off for each category.

Important Note: If you don't see Afterpay as an option on your Order Form or Checkout page when in Live or Preview view - please double check your Stripe settings with Afterpay and the LeadConnector app.

Once you have checked your settings, go back to your checkout link or order form and click through to preview view to see if AfterPay displays as a payment option then. Afterpay isn't available for recurring payments, and will only display on checkouts where a one time payment is connected.
