How to create a Snippet in Ivorey™

Snippets allow you to quickly insert reusable blocks of text into your emails when emailing or sending an SMS to clients directly from their contact profile. By saving commonly used content as snippets, you can maintain brand consistency, reduce repetitive work, and speed up the email creation process across templates and campaigns.


How to create a Snippet

To create a snippet please follow the steps below:

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, select [Messages] > along the top menu bar select [Snippets] > then click [+ Add Snippet] > and select your snippet type:

    1. Select 'Add Text Snippet' to create a snippet for SMS

    2. Select 'Add Email Snippet' to create a snippet for Email

  2. Add the snippet name, a subject line (if creating an email snippet), and body text, as well as any relevant attachments if needed

  3. Send yourself a test email or SMS to ensure you are happy with the formatting

  4. Then click [Save] to save your snippet for future use

Your snippet is now ready to be used for SMS, emailing your clients directly from the contact profile, or adding to an existing email template 🥂


How to use your Snippets

Below are the main ways you can use your snippets inside of Ivorey™. Please click on each drop down to learn more:

How to add Snippets to the 'Message Box' via the Contact profile for Email

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, select [Contacts] > and click into the contact profile you want to send the message to

  2. Make sure the [Email] option is selected at the top of your message box

  3. Click the 'Snippet' document icon located at the bottom of your message box window to select the snippet you'd like to add:

  4. Select your Snippet from the snippet menu and then customise your email as needed.

  5. To add additional snippets into the same email, repeat steps 3 and 4 above

  6. Click the [Send] button to send your email to the contact

How to add Snippets to email templates

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, select [Marketing] > along the top menu bar click [Emails] > then select [Templates]

  2. Click into the email template you want to add the snippet to

  3. Click into the text element of the email template, or drag and drop the text element on to your page

  4. Click the 'Snippet' document icon located at the top of your editor menu bar

  5. Select your Snippet from the snippet menu and then customise your email as needed

  6. Click [Save Template] to update your changes

How to add Snippets to the 'Message Box' via the Contact profile for SMS

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, select [Contacts] > and click into the contact profile you want to send the message to

  2. Make sure the [SMS] option is selected at the top of your message box

  3. Click the 'Snippet' document icon located at the bottom of your message box window to select the snippet you'd like to add:

  4. Select your Snippet from the snippet menu and then customise your SMS as needed.

  5. To add additional snippets into the same SMS, repeat steps 3 and 4 above

  6. Click the [Send] button to send your SMS to the contact


Frequently Asked Questions About Snippets

Can I use text snippets in both email templates and campaigns?

Yes, text snippets can be inserted into both email templates and campaigns. However please note that attachments linked to snippets will not be included when inserted into email templates. Only the text content will appear.


Attachments will be automatically included when you insert a snippet in a campaign email. This makes it easy to consistently deliver resources like PDFs, brochures, or product guides.

Can I organise snippets into folders or categories?

Yes, you can organise snippets into folders by going to Messaging > Snippets > Add Folder > then organising your snippets into the relevant folder

Are there limits to the number of snippets I can save?

There are currently no published limits, but best practice is to keep your snippet library organised for a streamlined user experience.

Who can create or edit snippets in my account?

Snippet creation and editing permissions depend on your account’s user roles and settings. You can edit these as needed by going to Settings > Team > clicking the pencil icon of the team member > then navigating to 'Roles and Permissions to customise accordingly.

How to send an email template to a single contact?

To send an email template to a single contact, please watch the loom video or follow the steps below:

  1. From the Ivorey™ main menu, select [Marketing] > along the top menu bar click [Emails] > then select [Campaigns]

  2. Click the [+ New] button > then select 'Your Templates' > and select the email template you would like to send

  3. Make sure the email template is ready to send > then click the [Send or Schedule] button at the top right of your screen

  4. Fill in the details as you would any email campaign

  5. When you get to the 'Recipient To' field, tick the 'Choose Contacts' option > then click the '+' icon

  6. Search and select the single contact you want to send the email to > and ensure it says '(1 contacts selected)' underneath

  7. From here you can either send yourself a test email, or go ahead and click [Review and Send] to send your email to your selected contact
