## how to test your course offer checkout and workflow

Before sharing your course offer checkout with real students, it’s important to run a quick **test purchase**. This allows you to confirm that the checkout, client portal access, and workflow automations are all working correctly before going live.

> **Warning:** Before testing, please ensure your [course signup workflow](https://cqcighsbi.gleap.help/en/articles/12157412-course-signup-workflows-for-offer-checkouts) has been set up and turned into publish mode.

1.  To place a test purchase through your Course Offer Checkout, from the main ivorey menu, go to **Portals** > **Courses** > **Offers**​
    
2.  Locate your course offer > click the ✏ Pencil icon to **Edit** your course offer ​
    
3.  On the right-hand side under **Offer Pricing**, click the **\[Edit\]** button > toggle the offer to **\[Test\]** next to **Payment Mode** at the bottom > and click the **\[Save\]** button​
    
4.  At the top right corner, click the **\[Preview\]** button ​
    
5.  Complete a test purchase:
    
    1.  Complete the checkout information > and click **\[Proceed to Checkout\]**
        
    2.  Use test card number 4242 4242 4242 4242, with any future expiry date and any CVV number > and click **\[Confirm Payment\]**
        
    3.  Click **\[View Dashboard\]** - you should be redirected to the **Client Portal**
        
    4.  Set a password, and confirm that you can access the course(s) included in your offer​
        
6.  Check if your **Course Offer Signup Workflow** fired as expected:
    
    1.  Go to **Automations** > **Workflows** > open the workflow for this offer > and view the **Enrollment History**
        
    2.  Confirm that your test signup ran successfully. If there are any errors, the system will highlight which step failed​
        
7.  Once testing is complete, go back into your offer’s **Pricing** settings and toggle it back to **\[Live\]**
