# add courses to the community learning tab

Learn all about add courses to your community and access our step-by-step instructions, FAQs, and everything you need to know!

This guide is perfect if you want to:

-   Integrate courses directly inside your community space as an optional add on
    
-   Offer free, paid, or time-unlocked courses in your **Learning Tab**
    
-   Encourage upsells once a member has joined your community

## how to add a course to your community learning tab

The **Learning** tab inside your community is where courses can be displayed. You can choose how. If you don't want to use this feature - you don't need to! Members can always use the **Home** tab to see all of their courses - this is just a great way to add further gamification and upsell opportunities.

1.  From the main ivorey menu, go to **Portals** > **Communities** > **Groups**
    
2.  Click **\[Login\]** on your community group
    
3.  Once inside, go to the **\[Learning\]** tab > click **\[+ Add Course\]** > and select the course you’d like to add, from the drop-down
    
4.  Select a **Course Visibility** option, from the drop-down:
    
    1.  **All Members**: Everyone in the community sees the course
        
    2.  **Level Unlock**: Only unlocks once members reach a certain level (if gamification is enabled)
        
        1.  Select which level should gain access
            
    3.  **Buy Now**: Members can purchase the course directly
        
        1.  Set the **Subscription Type** (i.e. Recurring or One Time payment)
            
        2.  Set the **Course Price** and **Currency**
            
        3.  If recurring, choose whether to allow a number of **Trial Days** and select the **Billing Period** (i.e. Monthly, Weekly, or Annual payments)
            
        4.  Toggle ON **Test Mode**, if you would like to place a test purchase first
            
    4.  **Time Unlock**: Becomes available after a set number of days since joining
        
        1.  Set the **Access starts at Day** number to the number of days after joining the community, when the course should unlock
            
    5.  **Private Channel:** Only members in a private channel will gain access
        
        1.  Select the specific **Private Channel**
            
    6.  **Private:** Only admins can grant access to members manually (members will be able to see the course as locked)  
          
        **Note:** Private course access can be managed from **Members** tab > **\[⋮\] three dots** on any specific member > **\[Manage Courses\]**
        
5.  Click **\[Add Course\]** to finish
