How to Optimise Your Website Speed and Performance
For improving site speed and overall performance, we suggest the same universal principles as all website builders:
JPG vs PNG: Use JPG images instead of PNGs whenever possible to reduce file sizes without sacrificing quality
File Compression: Compress large images before uploading them. Free tools like TinyPNG can help.
Videos and Animations: Limit the use of large videos or heavy animations, as these can slow down websites.
Fonts: Consider which font files you use e.g. custom fonts vs Google fonts.
Image Optimisation: Pay attention to the on/off toggle under your website settings called 'Image Optimisation'
If toggled ON ➝ It will sacrifice image quality in order to achieve better load times, but can result in pixelated/blurry images if the file was too large
If toggled OFF ➝ It will show the original image quality regardless of how long it takes to load
We suggest following universal recommendations for websites, and to use Google page speed tests to continue optimising your site.
